Learn more →Working on a renovation?
If you're renovating a kitchen, bathroom, or extension, bring us in early. Electrical rough-in happens before the walls go up — getting it right then saves a lot of pain later. We work well with builders and other trades, and we'll make sure our scope is clear so there are no overlaps or gaps.
We'll do a site visit, talk through what you need, and give you a quote that covers everything — not a lowball number that balloons once work starts.
Common questions about upgrades
How much does EV charger installation cost?
Installation of a Level 2 home EV charger (7kW) typically costs $500–$1,200 installed, depending on the distance from your switchboard and any electrical upgrades needed. We'll quote the full cost — charger hardware not included unless you want us to supply it.
Can I add power points to my deck or garage myself?
No — any new wiring, including outdoor power and subboards, must be done by a licensed electrician. This protects you legally, keeps your home insurance valid, and ensures it's weatherproofed correctly.
Do you work on renovations alongside other trades?
Yes, regularly. We're used to working alongside builders, plumbers, and kitchen designers. We can do first-fix (wiring before gib) and second-fix (fitting sockets, lights, rangehoods), and we'll coordinate with the other trades on site.
What lighting upgrade do you recommend?
For most homes, switching to LED downlights — especially in kitchens and living areas — makes the biggest difference to energy bills. We do full LED retrofits and can advise on dimming, colour temperature, and positioning. Read our LED guide for more detail.
